BSSMC 2027

This will be the 29th year of the BSSMC.

What began as an opportunity for sports medicine care givers to discuss current issues in an engaging environment, has turned into a multi-disciplinary sports medicine conference.

CONFERENCE SPEAKERS

Our two most important program contributors are Geoffrey Baer MD of the University of Wisconsin  and Jeffrey Kutcher MD, Sports Neurologist, Director of the Kutcher Clinics. These two are coordinating collaborators in Sports Medicine to bring us the latest in research and practice updates in the fields of Orthopedics and Sports Neurology.

CONFERENCE SCHEDULE

The Big Sky Sports Medicine Conference features several days of educational sessions, workshops and an Exhibit Hall. Attendees have additional opportunities to socialize and network at the Sponsor receptions. The 2027 conference schedule is being finalized.

ABSTRACTS & PRESENTATIONS

Poster presentations: Poster Presenters will receive continuing education credit certificates. Special emphasis is given to original research.

Here are some ideas for poster presentations that you would be of interest at the 2027 BSSMC: The impact of concussions on athletes; New research on the prevention of sports injuries; The latest advances in sports performance training; The use of technology in sports medicine; The importance of mental health in sports; Special Case studies; Orthopedic sports injuries; Head Trauma; Unique Case Studies

If you are interested in presenting a poster at the 2027 BSSMC, please provide the following:

  • Title of Poster
  • Abstract of poster, 250 words or less
  • A one page CV of the Poster’s lead author

The deadline for submitting abstracts is December 1st, 2026.  Submit your proposal to cooperb@uga.edu. More information about poster will be received upon acceptance.
